Many people are interested in visiting Dubai.  Dubai is a wonderful place to visit.  Many people are finally discovering the benefits of international travel to Dubai.  It is becoming an international city and is currently in a building boom.  I have visited Dubai several times, and I always see new projects and construction.  It is a cosmopolitan  city with beautiful restaurants, buildings and friendly people.  It seems that every year Dubai becomes more and more beauiful as  it constructs hotels and restaurants which are fit for a King!

Many International Corporations are based in Dubai.  The weather is great year round, mostly sunny.  The city is extremely clean and people are very friendly.  Taxis are readily available and this is truly a shoppers paradise!  Malls are very beautiful and are generally very well kept.  They even boast an indoor ski mall.  This is very amazing when you consider the year round temperature.  What an amazing feat to create  an indoor ski mall!

Abu Dhabi is Dubai’s neighbor in the oil rich desert and is also experiencing a building boom on a tremendous scale.  It is truly a modern marvel seeing beautiful skyscrapers surrounded by a desert.  Many international projects are being built and should attract tourists worldwide.  Hotels, Roads and Malls are being constructed to accommodate this boom in tourism.

The Burj Khalifa the worlds tallest building is truly amazing!  With 160 floors, and at a height of 800 meters it is an amazing engineering feat!  It has 57 elevators and 26,000 glass panels.  It stands out like a spire and is truly recognizable from anywhere in Dubai.  It is located on Sheik Zayed Road.  There is even an Observation Deck where one can see amazing views of Dubai.  On ground level is Dubai Mall with very beautiful shops.

Dubai is more than a international city ; it is a mecca of unparalled beauty and wealth.  Dubai is no longer a business venue; it is fast becoming the destination of choice for not only businesses travelers but families on vacation.  I have not seen many Americans on the last few visits, but I imagine this will change in the future as their entertainment industry grows.  I really enjoyed the ecletic mix of people from all over the world.

This is a picture of the Statue of Liberty

Last week in the pouring rain we boarded a ferry from Liberty State Park NJ to Ellis Island.  This short ferry ride of under 15 minutes was very exciting as we saw the coast of NJ and Manhattan.  Once we disembarked we went straight to the beautiful museum!  It paid homage to the immigrants of the 20th century!  It was really enlightening seeing all the exhibits and rooms all the immigrants past through once their ships landed.  There is such history on Ellis Island!  It is fascinating!  

Next ferry stop was to the Statue of Liberty!  What a beautiful symbol which one can see for miles from the coast of NJ and Manhattan.  This great Statue which France gave the US is an amazing site!  We greatly enjoyed the museum inside the statue as well as hiking to almost the top of the Statue.  The very top has been closed for years for security issues.  We greatly enjoyed seeing this piece of American history!
